Anchor, Junior & Company Section Boys were all given a tube of Smarties this week.
The usual rules apply:
Eat the sweeties. remember to share them!
Save the tube and then refill it over the next few months with 20p pieces.
If you do this right, when you bring it back in February/March next year there will
be about £12.00 in the tube.
Have fun enjoy the Smarties and remember to bring them back full of 20ps next year.
A blog site set up as part of the Company Section Award programme in 2008/2009 Session. The idea behind it is to allow postings to be put on the site and accessed by Company members. We hope to develop this site in order to help with the flow of information to Boys and Parents about activities in the 5th Hamilton BB Company.

Company Section - Badgework - Digital Photography
Friday night saw the Company Section Boys split into groups of 3 and sent in the Church to experiment with a couple of Olympus 5 and 8 mega pixel, point and press, auto focus digital cameras and take photographs.
Shown below are a selection of some of their photographs taken; along with a few I took using a slightly bigger and better Canon EOS SLR 15 mega pixel digital camera with a 75-200mm zoom lense.

New Session - Starts in September
The letters are in the post to all the Boys regarding the restart dates.
Emails will also be sent out.
Emails will also be sent out.
Please note that the time of the Company Section has changed, this is in order to overcome a shortfall in staff numbers currently in the Company Section.
Numbers are quite low in the Junior Section so I have included an invite with the letters for all the Junior Section Boys. Please think about your friends at school who might like to give the Junior Section a try, invite them along.
Junior Section P4 to P6
Remember, if you know anybody in P1 to P3 they are more than welcome to come along to the Anchor Section, and also P7 to S6 can come to the Company Section.
See you all next week!

Squad Drill Competition
The Battalion Company Section Squad Drill Competition was held on 23rd March.
All the Company Section Boys took part.
The Company Section were placed 2nd behind 1st Bothwell, but in front of 2nd Blantyre and 2nd Hamilton.
That's two 2nd places in the drill competitions this year.

Elementary Drill Competition
This was held on Friday (27th January) over in Larkhall St Machan's Church.
Four of the 1st & 2nd Year Company Section Boys form a "squad" who are taken through a short drill routine by one of the NCO's.
Keir, Matthew, Gregor L & Gregor S were the "squad" and Isaac was the NCO in charge.
There are two competitions run on the night, a drill competition for the best drilled squad - who do as they are told best and also a best NCO competition - which NCO performs the best and gives the best commands to their squad.
I received the results this morning by email.
We were 2nd in the main drill competition and also 2nd in the NCO competition. So well done to all 5 Boys who took part in the elementary drill.
Needless to say 1st Bothwell won both competitions, but nobody expects anything different. Certainly we did not expect to be in between 1st Bothwell and 2nd Blantyre, this makes a nice wee change.

Battalion Masterteam Winners again
On Monday (23rd January) Alex and Robbie McLean along with Isaac Carswell represented the Company at the Company Section Battalion Masterteam Competition.
For a second year in a row they won it quite convincingly.
They had very high scoring rounds in General Knowledge (Joker), Bible and BB Knowledge.
They beat 21 teams from 12 other Companies. Loads of people trying hard to beat them, but they just could not keep up with them.
Well done to the 3 Boys, and this year the trophy can stay at the Manse.
